Voice typing in Brave
Brave doesn’t include the speech recognition engine that many dictation extensions depend on — so they simply don’t work there. Voice Typing AI uses its own AI recognition, so it works in Brave.
- Free 15 min/day
- No sign-up
- Auto punctuation
- 50+ languages
Why other dictation tools fail in Brave
- Many voice typing extensions use the browser’s built-in Web Speech engine, which Brave does not ship.
- Voice Typing AI records audio itself and converts it with an AI model on our server, so it doesn’t depend on that engine.
How to use it
- Install Voice Typing AI from the Chrome Web Store (free) and allow the microphone once.
- Click into any text field — an email, a document, a chat box, a form.
- Press Alt+Shift+D once and speak. When you pause, the text appears with punctuation and capital letters.
- Say “new line” or “new paragraph” for line breaks. 15 free minutes every day, no account.
