Privacy Policy — Voice Typing AI
Last updated: October 1, 2026
Voice Typing AI turns your speech into text. Here is exactly what happens with your data.
- Microphone. The extension records only while dictation is on (after you press the shortcut or the toolbar button) and stops when you press it again or after 2 minutes.
- Audio. The recording is sent over HTTPS to our server (transcriptnote.com, hosted on Cloudflare) and passed to our speech-recognition provider, Groq, to produce the text. We do not store your audio or the resulting text. Groq processes it under its own privacy terms.
- Text. The recognized text is inserted into the field you were typing in, in your browser. We don't read the page content or the text you typed.
- Anonymous usage counter. To apply the free daily limit we keep a random install ID and your IP address with the number of seconds dictated today. These counters expire after 48 hours.
- Settings (language, minutes left) are stored locally in your browser.
- No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no selling or sharing of data.
If this changes (for example, when paid plans are added), this page will be updated before the new version is released.
Questions: use the "Support" tab on the extension's Chrome Web Store page.
